2012 Red Sox Say "Sayonara"

You didn't really expect the Red Sox to win Wednesday night, did you? Making what was likely his final start for the Red Sox, Daisuke Matsuzaka (pictured) didn't make it through the 3rd inning as the Yankees touched him for 5 runs on 6 hits and a walk to clinch the American League Eastern Division crown with a 14-2 win over the Red Sox.

Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson each had a pair of home runs for New York; together they drove in 10 of the 14 runs given up by the Red Sox.

So now as the Red Sox pick of the pieces of their abysmal 2012 season ownership has a number of issues to deal with. In no particular order - Bobby Valentine (okay, maybe that should be #1), whether to sign David Ortiz and Cody Ross, what to do with the shortstop position (Mike Aviles proved he can play everyday; Jose Iglesias proved he can't hit at the Major League level), how hard to try to sign Jacoby Ellsbury to a long-term deal, what free agents to go after (Torii Hunter, anyone?), Daniel Bard's future.... You can add your own from here.
