The Texas Rangers pounded out a season-high 18 hits including 4 by old friend Adrian Beltre as the Red Sox dropped the opening game of their weekend series 7-0 at Rangers Ballpark at Arlington.

Felix Doubront lasted only 3.2 innings; he was charged with 6 runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out a pair.

Beltre (pictured) drove in 3 runs with a bases-clearing double off Doubront in the 4th, leading to Doubront's shortest outing of the season.

Texas starter Derek Holland shut the Red Sox out on 6 hits over 8 innings; former Red Sox Derek Lowe came on in the 9th to seal the win.

Jacoby Ellsbury had a pair of hits in the loss.
