3 Stars of the game: Game 29

The Texas Rangers offense was on a mission tonight, a mission to bruise and batter the Red Sox pitching staff, a mission they were successful in. The Rangers banged out 18 hits, 12 of them off of starter Felix Doubront who only pitched 3.2 innings tonight. Derek Holland also pitched 8 shutout innings of baseball. There isn't much to be said for the good of the Red Sox performance tonight other than nobody got hurt. Here are your 3 stars of the game:

Star 3: Ian Kinsler
Kinsler had a successful night at the plate going 3-5 with 1 run scored and an RBI driven in as well. Kinsler got this RBI on a double in the 5th inning.
Star 2: Derek Holland
Holland fooled Boston hitters all night. He pitched 8 innings of shutout baseball, allowing only 6 hits. He struck out 9 and walked only 1. Holland improved to 2-2 on the season with the win tonight.
Star 1: Adrian Beltre
If there was one player that really hurt the Red Sox tonight it was Beltre. He went 4-5 with the one time he got out coming in the 8th inning. Beltre had 3 RBI's tonight and scored 1 run for the Rangers. His RBI's brought his season total to 15.

It was an ugly game for the Red Sox tonight, they couldn't get anything going offensively and the pitching got hammered. The most positive thing that came from tonight was the return of Victorino who had missed the last week with a lower back injury.
