Middlebrooks and Ross Injury Update

In last nights game, in the bottom of the fifth, Will Middlebrooks ran into with catcher, David Ross, while trying to make a catch down the third baseline in foul territory.

When I watched the video for the second time, I thought Middlebrooks got hurt worse. The reason for this is you have to take into consideration that Ross has shin guards on, and when he went into the slide, the shin guard went right into Middlebrooks side. Middlebrook
s cat scan did not show anything and Ross had his knew checked out and is confident that he will not be out of the line up long.

Neither Ross or Middlebrooks is in the line up tonight.

If John Farrell was smart, he would monitor both very closely before having them play again. Middlebrooks, coming off his season ending wrist injury last year, is the type of guy you don't want on the disabled list. Having him in the line up everyday is a key asset to this team.

Ross has been a key to the team as well this season. In his past ten games he is batting .276 with 4 home runs and 5 RBI's. Hands down he has been the hotter catcher lately.

I would expect both guys to be back in the line up no later than the end of the week.
