Sox slam Price, Rays...no, really.

The Red Sox scored 9 runs on 10 hits - the bulk of the scoring in an 8-run third inning - to beat the Rays 9-2 at the Trop.

David Price started for Tampa Bay. He lasted just 2.1 innings and was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits and a walk. He was taken out in the top of the 3rd with some sort of arm injury.

The big blow was a grand slam by Stephen Drew (pictured) who had walked to start the top of the third and ended things with the bases-loaded slam off reliever Jamie Wright.

Jon Lester improved to 6-0 for the first time in his career. He lasted 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 5 and didn't walk a batter.

Dustin Pedroia, Will Middlebrooks, and Drew each had 2-hit games for Boston. Middelbrooks hit his 7th home runs of the season in the top of the 8th off Kyle Farnsworth.
