Jake Peavy tossed seven strong innings and was backed by home runs by Shane Victorino and Jarrod Saltalamacchia as the Red Sox beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 at Fenway Park.

Peavy (pictured) was charged with both Arizona runs on four hits and two walks in his Red Sox debut. He struck out seven and left to a standing ovation in the top of the eighth inning.

Arizona led 1-0 early on a solo home run by Paul Goldschmidt in the top of the fourth inning. Victorino tied things up an inning later with his seventh home run of the season.

Boston extended the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Jacoby Ellsbury and RBI sacrifice fly by Victorino. Saltalamacchia provided more breathing room with a two-run shot into the Red Sox bullpen in the bottom of the eighth.
