Recap - Red Sox Fall In Series Opener To Royals

The Royals jumped on Red Sox starter Rick Porcello for a pair of runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth as Boston dropped the opener of their three-game series with Kansas City 8-4 at Kauffmman Stadium.

Paulo Orlando and Eric Hosmer each homered for the Royals. Travis Shaw hit his sixth home run of the year for the Red Sox; Jackie Bradley Jr. extended his consecutive game hitting streak to 22 games.

Porcello lasted 5+ innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out five.
