Fan Stat of the Week
For the Orioles series, our friends at the Society for American Baseball Research* have introduced a new statistic for fans over 40. They project that such fans will quote Earl Weaver's famous phrase, "Pitching, defense, and three-run homers," by the bottom of the first, then repeat it each time there is a strong defensive play or a three-run home run. Projected game total is 2.
Fans under 40 will ask who Earl Weaver is.
