Game 111 - Yankees 3, Red Sox 2

It's still early August, and with both the Red Sox and Yankees all but guaranteed a playoff spot, this 3-game series is really more about bragging rights than it is about deciding anything in the American League East, but the Yankees took advantage of a two walks and a trio of hits off Jon Lester in the top of the 6th inning to score 3 runs on their way to a 3-2 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox got the tying run on base in the bottom of the 9th courtesy of an infield single by Carl Crawford, but Mariano Rivera struck out Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Josh Reddick looking to seal the win. Boone Logan got the W in relief of Bartolo Colon to improve to 3-2; Jon Lester falls to 11-5 with the loss.
