Quick Thought
Whatever else one can say about the Red Sox, one has to have sympathy -- some sympathy -- for the climate they work in. In the car yesterday, I flipped to a talk station. Was the topic football, since it was Sunday, and a playoff picture is emerging? Was the topic the (almost certain) end of the NBA lockout and a Celtics season preview? Those red hot Bruins?
No, the topic was the Red Sox. Not the sole topic, but definitely a majority of the callers.
Now I see Jon Heyman is reporting about disagreement in the manager hiring process. Nothing against Heyman, it's his job, but I refuse to read the story. I don't care; I don't want to care. The only thing I want to hear about in the offseason is trades. Disagreement during a hiring process is normal.
I'm looking forward to just caring about the score of the game.
