Sox Bounce Back WIth 8-4 Win Over Braves
Rookie Will Middlebrooks (pictured) singled, doubled and homered as the Red Sox rebounded from Friday night's loss with an 8-4 win over the Atlanta Braves at Fenway Park. Middlebrooks helped pace a Boston offense that exploded for 14 hits off five Atlanta pitchers. Dustin Pedroia also had three hits, including his 18th double of the season. Adrian Gonzalez, Cody Ross, and Mike Aviles each had 2 hits in the win.
Franklin Morales, making his 2nd start in place of Josh Beckett (15-day DL) got the win; he went 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8.
Daniel Nava drove in two runs in the bottom of the 7th with a single and it would appear that the Red Sox are going to have a VERY difficult decsion on their hands once Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury come back in the next couple of weeks.
