Strasburg Stifles Sox, Nats Win 7-4

The Red Sox got their first look at the first place Washington Nationals featuring Stephen Strasburg and 19-year old Bryce Harper at Fenway Park tonight. Strasburg held the Red Sox to just 4 hits over 6 innings, while Harper was a triple shy of the cycle as the Nationals topped the Sox 7-4 in the opening game of the weekend interleague series.

The Red Sox got on the board first on a 2-RBI double by Mike Aviles in the bottom of the 2nd, but they wouldn't score again until Adrian Gonzalez ripped a solo home run to deep centerfield in the bottom of the 8th inning. Daniel Nava doubled home a run in the bottom of the 9th.

Felix Doubront (pictured) lasted only 4 innings; he was charged with 6 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 6 and walked a pair.
