Darnell McDonald now a Yankee

Boston Herald-OAKLAND, Calif. — Guess who may be coming back to Fenway Park on Friday night?
A few days after being designated for assignment by the Red Sox, popular outfielder Darnell McDonald has been claimed off waivers by the Yankees, who open a four-game, three-day series at Fenway on Friday. McDonald batted .214 in 99 plate appearances this season, but he filled in ably over the past 2-1/2 seasons.

Ok, so Darnell McDonald may not have been the best player the Red Sox had, but really what is the deal with letting them drop like flies? First we trade Kevin Youkilis to the Chicago White Sox for two no-names and now he is performing better than ever. Then we take a guy (McDonald) who has stepped up because of all the injuries and just let him go for nothing. I'm not feeling the Red Sox organization right now. They just lost 3 straight to the Oakland A's and now have to face the Yankees in a 4 game series, let's hope Bobby V keeps it together and get's them closer to a playoff spot.
