If Nothing Else, Sox Have An Ace

Clay Buchholz came up with another very strong performance in a game the Red Sox simply had to win in an effort to keep their slim playoff hopes alive in the final six weeks of the 2012 season. He allowed 3 runs early, and then shut the Orioles down as the Red Sox salvaged the final game of the road series against the Orioles with a 6-3 win.

Buchholz (pictured) pitched 8 innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7 in capturing his 11th win of the season.

Five Red Sox had multi-hit games including Carl Crawford (2), Dustin Pedroia (2), Adrian Gonzalez (2), Cody Ross (3), and Scott Podsednik (2). Gonzalez also had 2 RBI's.
