The Sweep Goes On....
That right there, boys & girls is the picture of a very lonely man...specifically Zach Stewart who couldn't get through the 3rd inning against the Orioles Sunday afternoon as Baltimore closed out the Red Sox with a 6-3 win and a sweep of the 3-game weekend series at Camden Yards.
Stewart was charged with 5 runs (including 3 in the bottom of the 1st inning) on 7 hits in just 2.2 innings but hey, at least he didn't walk anybody.
Cody Ross and Daniel Nava hit home runs to account for all 3 Red Sox runs. Ryan Lavarnway and Pedro Ciriaco each had 2 hits in the loss.
With the Yankees coming from behind to beat the Blue Jays, New York and Baltimore head into the last 3 games of the season tied for 1st place in the American League East.
The Red Sox head to New York for games on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; the Orioles will finish on the road against Tampa.
