3 Stars of the game: Game 37
Yesterdays afternoon game was a good old fashion pitchers duel. Clay Buchholz faced off against Mark Buehrle and both pitchers dazzled. Buchholz was going for his 7th win in his 8th start and Buerhle was looking to improve to 2-2. Here are the 3 stars of the game:
Star 3: Adam Lind
Lind was one of the keys in Toronto's victory yesterday. He provided the run support that the Jays needed to beat the Red Sox. Lind went 3-4 with 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. Lind hit the solo home run in the 9th inning to give the Blue Jays the go ahead, and eventually game winning run.
Star 2: Clay Buchholz
Buchholz dazzled again in his 8th start of the season. He has pitched so well this season that he could be 8-0 but due to a lack of offense when he has been pitching he is still 6-0. Clay pitched 8 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 3 on 101 pitches.
Star 1: Mark Buerhle
Buerhle got the better of Buchholz yesterday but still was let down by his bullpen and got a no decision. He went 7 strong innings allowing 1 run of 5 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 2 on 105 pitches.
Yesterday was a great pitching effort by both teams but the offense was lacking on both sides as well. The rubber game of the series is today at 1:35. Will the Red Sox win the series or will they lose their third series in a row? Leave your answer in the comments section below or on twitter @ryanthahawaiian.
