The Red Sox continued their recent hot streak this weekend by beating the Twins on Saturday and Sunday. Power lead the Sox on Saturday and then on Sunday they overcame a rain delay to win again. Here are the 3 stars of the games.
Saturday
Star 3: Ryan Lavarnway
Lavarnway went 1-4 on the day with 2 RBI's. He hit a sacrifice fly in the 9th inning to extend the teams lead.
Star 2: Daniel Nava
Nava went 2-4 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI's. He hit his 6th home run of the year in the 7th inning.
Star 1: David Ortiz
Ortiz had his best game of the season going 3-4 with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI's. Ortiz's 6 RBI's brought him up to 29 on the season and his 2 home runs brought his total up to 7 on the season.
Sunday
Star 3: Will Middlebrooks
Middlebrooks is still trying to work out of his slump that he has been in for the majority of the season. He went 1-5 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Hit hit a home run in the second inning, his 8th of the season.
Star 2: John Lackey
Wow, what a start from Lackey. He pitched 6 amazing innings before the rain delay. He gave up 1 hit, and 1 run while the run was not earned. Lackey improved to 2-4 on the year and is not quite the starter that the Red Sox hoped for but is what fans have come to expect.
Star 1: Dustin Pedroia
Pedroia had a great game for the Sox today. He went 2-5 with 3 RBI's and 2 runs cored. He hit a 2 run home run to extend the teams lead in the ninth inning and also grounded into a fielders choice in the 3rd inning.

This was a good weekend for the Red Sox while playing the Twins. Do you think this is what the team needed to get a kickstart in their race for the division title as we look to enter the summer months? Leave me an answer in the comments below or on twitter @ryanthahawaiian.
