Closer is closer to closing out stint
Yesterday in a bullpen session, Andrew Bailey threw 25 pitches off the mound without hinder.
This is the first time he has thrown off a real mound since going on the disabled list on May 5th. It is a significant step and Andrew Bailey stated that it all felt normal.
He threw all of his pitches and the Red Sox will have him pitch a simulated game on Thursday before deciding if he needs to make a rehab start in the minor leagues. Assuming all goes well, he should be back no later than next Monday.
How bad do we need Andrew Bailey as the Red Sox closer? Can we survive another series without him?
