Four solo shots doom Sox

Red Sox pitchers gave up four solo home runs - two of them by new Sox killer Domonic Brown (pictured) - as Boston fell to the Phillies 4-3 at Citizens Bank Park. John Lackey took the loss; his record dropped to 3-5.

Boston jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a leadoff triple by Jacoby Ellsbury, followed one out later by a Dustin Pedroia sacrifice fly. Ryan Howard tied the game at 1 with a home run off Lackey in the bottom of the second inning.

Two innings later, Brown and Erik Kratz went back-to-back for Philadelphia. Brown's second home run came in the bottom of the eighth.  Brown has homered in all three games against the Red Sox this year.

Boston scratched out a run in the top of the ninth off Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon who held on for the save.
