Every year teams go through injuries, slumps and trades that change the face of the current and future Major League roster. Let's take a look at what's happening with the Red Sox minor league prospects down on the farm.

The Red Sox have announced their Minor League Players of the Month for April:

Hitter: Garin Cecchini, Single-A Salem, hitting .392/.478/.709 , 4 HR, 19 extra-base hits, 10 steals, 18 walks

Starting pitcher: Anthony Ranaudo, Double-A Portland Sea Dogs 3-0, 0.83 ERA, 26 strikeouts, 5 walks, 21 2/3 IP, .159 opponents’ batting average

Reliever: Chris Martin, Double-A Portland 8 games, 15 1/3 innings, 0.00 ERA, 19 strikeouts, 5 walks, .140 opponents’ batting average.

Defensive: Catcher Christian Vazquez, Double-A Portland, 11 caught stealing in 16 games.

Base runner: Center fielder Shannon Wilkerson, Double–A Portland, hitting .222 with 13 runs, 2 SB, in 21 games

Base stealer: Cecchini, 10 for 13 in SB attempts.

Other minor league notes:
Julio Iglesias, SS Triple-A Pawtucket, found himself on the bench this week for not running out ground balls. CSNNE's Sean McAdam reported Iglesias was initially positive at Pawtucket, but has been frustrated and doesn't feel he belongs in the minors. Iglesias is hitting .223 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 20 games.

Jackie Bradley Jr, OF Triple-A Pawtucket, was put on the 15-day disabled list with bicep tendinitis. Bradley was hitting .302 with a .400 OBP. Also, Wednesday was Bradley's 20th day in the minors this year and pushed his free agency eligibility back to 2019.

Allen Webster was optioned back to Triple-A Pawtucket after a spot start with the big club against the Twins Wednesday. Webster didn't look good from the start and lasted only 1 2/3 innings giving up eight runs.
