3 Stars of the game: Game 57

Im not going to lie, I was part of Boston that watched the Red Sox during the intermission of the Bruins game, and it was for good reason. It was a great night for Boston, with the Bruins winning 3-0 in Game 1 of the ECF and the Red Sox smashing 11 runs against the Yankees to go up 2 games in the standings. Here are the 3 stars of the game:

Star 3: Felix Doubront
If you told any member of Red Sox Nation that Doubront would pitch 6 innings allowing only 1 run before the game started they would have laughed in your face. Well its time to keep laughing because Doubront was dominant against the Yankees. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 3 to improve to 4-2.
Star 2: Mike Napoli
Napoli punished the Yankees for their decision to intentionally walk David Ortiz in the 3rd inning with a grand slam to bring the lead from 1 to 5. Napoli went 3-5 with 4 RBI's and 1 run scored.
Star 1: Daniel Nava
Nava was amazing from the leadoff spot tonight going 4-6 with 4 RBI's and 2 runs scored. He hit a 3 run home run in the 8th inning, his 8th of the year. He increased his RBI total on the season to 37.

This was the kind of win that the Red Sox needed, they play in the rubber game of the series tomorrow night on ESPN as the game of the week. Lets hope they saved some runs tonight for tomorrows game.
