3 Stars of the Game: Game 81

Well it seemed like yesterday that the Red Sox started the season in New York but it is now the halfway point. The Red Sox are in first place in the AL East. The team is providing the offense and the pitching is doing what they need to in order to continue to contend in the best division in baseball. Tonight the Red Sox jumped all over the Blue Jays early, scoring 7 runs in the 2nd inning and then never allowing the Jays to stage a comeback. Here are the stars of the game:

Star 3: Daniel Nava
Nava went 1-4 on the night with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Nava also made one of the most important plays of the night, making a leaping catch in left field with a runner on base, ending the growing rally that the Jays were making in the 8th inning.
Star 2: Jon Lester
Lester improved to 8-4 on the season with a dominating win shutting down the Jays. He went 7+ innings before coming out with an apparent leg injury. He gave up 5 hits and 4 runs, 2 of them in 8th inning. He struck out 5 and walked 3. Again Lester was the ace of the staff that the team wanted him to be when he was named the opening day starter this year.
Star 1: Dustin Pedroia
Pedroia went 1-3 on the night with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. He hit a 2 run home run in the second inning, his 5th of the season.

As the second half of the season begins the Red Sox are in a great place, both in the division and in the overall record in the Major Leagues. How do you thin the second half of the season will be? Leave your answer in the comments below or on twitter @Ryanthahawaiian.
