BREAKING NEWS: Pedro Ciriaco traded

The Man that was known last year as "The Yankee Killer" has been traded to the San Diego Padres. Ciriaco has spent most of his major league career bouncing around the major leagues with many stints in the minors as well. He is a utility infield player who can play any position. Ciriaco has been having a difficult year for Boston, struggling offensively at the plate and also committing many errors in the field. The Red Sox will get a player to be named later or cash for the trade. This trade will likely keep Jose Iglesias with the Red Sox alternating time at the SS position with Stephen Drew and also becoming a utility infielder. He has recently been playing third base while Will Middlebrooks was on the DL. The Red Sox designated Ciriaco for assignment earlier this week, shipping him back to Pawtucket. Ciriaco was hitting .216 for the Red Sox this year, with only 4 RBI's. I would like to say thank you to Ciriaco for his time with the club and the best of luck in San Diego.
