After winning the first game of the series against Toronto on Thursday, the Red Sox went into the weekend looking to take 2 out of 3 and win the series outright. They were able to do this after splitting Fridays and Saturdays game and then won Sunday on a walk off error committed by the Blue Jays. After this weekend the Red Sox are 50-34, the best record in the American League and the second best record in all of Major League Baseball. Here are the 3 stars of the weekend.

Star 3: Jacoby Ellsbury
Ellsbury had his best game of the weekend on Friday, going 2-5 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. He played a good defensive game in the field and is continuing to make a late push to make the AL All star team.
Star 2: Edwin Encarnacion
Encarnacion was the driving factor in the one Toronto win of the weekend, going 2-3 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored in Saturdays game. He also walked once.
Star 1: Shane Victorino
Victorino went 2-4 on Saturday with 2 RBI's then was at bat when the error occurred to let the Red Sox walk off against the Jays on Sunday.

This week is important for the Sox, they continue to battle in the AL East and continue to hold down the best record in the American League. This team is playing well and hopefully will be able to continue the push in the second half of the season.
