Red Sox and Rays go at it on Twitter
Managing Editor
Let me break some news to those holding via death clutch to the past. The Red Sox/Yankees rivalry is dead. They've been replaced by the Tampa Bay Rays, and the heat between these teams has been increasing over the past 5 years. In short, there's no love loss between these two rivals.
Not to be outdone by an organization that has as many fans/followers as a boil on the butt has, the Red Sox fired back via their Twitter account with an accurate, and damning statement.
Swing and a miss, Tampa Bay. A swing, and a miss.

So, after a controversial call at home plate that directly influenced the outcome of the game (and very likely the AL East standings) the Rays organization jumped on Twitter and tried their best to trash talk in 140 characters or less.
Dear @RedSox scoreboard operator - your standings are wrong. Yours truly, @RaysBaseball.

Don't worry @raysbaseball we look forward to seeing you in Tampa in September for our home games at the Trop.
