Any novice poker player will tell you there's usually an appropriate time to call a bluff, and then there's a time to fold. In the case of the Biogenesis scandal, it was the perfect time to fold as Major League Baseball sets it's sights on an unprecedented move.
Many immediately called MLB's bluff when stories began to surface that baseball would be seeking a life-time ban against New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez. Now, as USA Today reporting, those who whimsically called MLB's bluff, including A-Rod himself, will be losing - BIG TIME.
MLB wants to send a resounding message to those who have cheated, are cheating or will cheat in the future. It's a simple statement with a clever pun.
