Our good friend and MLB insider Peter Gammons tweeted a very interesting quote from one of Carlos Beltran's "friends." The quote suggested that Beltran has been playing teams (and himself) into a high profile contract.
Currently, the Red Sox, Orioles and Yankees are all vying for Beltran's services in 2014. However, the tweet by Gammons points to some sneaky "gamesmanship" from the free agent outfielder. Perhaps positioning himself into a fabricated bidding war. Let's hope the Red Sox can see past the smoke screens.
