The Dodgers are launching a new team-owned sports channel in 2014, and they have a new announcer now, too. Nomar Garciaparra will be leaving his job as an ESPN analyst to be a commentator for the Dodgers.

With his new job, Garciaparra is returning to his roots. “Nomah” may have been a longtime Red Sock, from 1996-2004, but he is a Southern California native and played for the Dodgers for three seasons right before the end of his career.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the Dodgers are looking to have former Dodger great Orel Hershiser join Garciaparra as their other commentator.
