So, no re-signing of Mike Napoli or Stephen Drew to report yet, but the Red Sox did sign Cardnials reliever Edward Mujica to a 2-year, $9.5 million deal pending a physical today, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (see tweet below). Mujica was the closer for the Cardinals for most of last year before losing his job to Trevor Rosenthal, according to Passan.

Mujica saved 37 games and had a 2.78 ERA for the Cardinals, but struggled late in the year which caused him to ultimately lose the job according to Passan.
This move gives the Red Sox more reliever depth, which was a problem in the playoffs, so it's a good move from that point of view. Like with all new signings, though, time will tell how well this move ultimately works out. Thoughts on the deal? Sound off below or on Twitter.
