The Ninth Day of Soxmas: Big Papi and the bullpen cop

(Danbury Mint)

It does not matter whether you have been naughty or nice, all the boys and girls of Red Sox Nation received the greatest gift of all when the Olde Town Team brought home the 2013 World Series.

We here at Red Sox Life are reliving all that was one magical season.

The ninth day of Soxmas: Oct. 13 - Big Papi and the bullpen cop

The Red Sox trailed 5-1 with two outs in the eighth inning of Game 2 of the ALCS to the Detroit Tigers and were on the verge of falling into a two games to none hole.

David Ortiz changed everything and turned one lonely bullpen cop into a Boston sports icon.

The Red Sox would win it an inning later when Jarrod Saltalamacchia smacked a walk-off RBI single.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Red Sox Life.
