While we have all been watching, waiting, and anticipating the start of the 2014 season with Xander Bogaerts at shortstop, there has been no shortage of news around how well grounded this young player is.

Over at the Globe Peter Abraham took note of a small but very interesting habit that Xander Bogaerts has repeated every day at Spring Training.

"At 21, he's one of the best young players in the game. Fame awaits."

Yet after his major league workouts are finished with the Red Sox, he takes a stroll down to the minor league facilities to hang out with the players there.

He joins them at the picnic tables.

He talks baseball, with his friends.

Over the winter several Red Sox players were mentioning it would be interesting to see how the success would affect him.

Not at all.
