The Milwaukee Brewers completed their 3-game sweep of the Red Sox with a 4-0 win on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park. Boston comes out of the opening weekend of the 2014 season with a 2-4 record. They looked as lethargic throughout the Brewers series as their record would lead you to believe.

Jon Lester took the loss for the Red Sox to fall to 0-2 on the season but as in the season opener against Baltimore, he delivered a quality start. Lester was charged with 2 runs in 7.1 innings on 7 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 6. He threw 72 of his 108 pitches for strikes.

The Boston offense managed 9 hits; every starter contributed a hit.

The win went to Brewers starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo who threw 6.2 innings of shutout baseball.

The team placed Will Middlebrooks on the 15-day disabled list prior to the game with a strained right calf. Brock Holt was recalled from AAA Pawtucket.
