Recap - Sox offense struggles in West Coast opener

The Red Sox modest three-game winning streak came to an end in Oakland Thursday night as the A's limited Boston to just five hits in a 4-2 loss in the opening game of their West Coast road trip.
Dustin Pedroia supplied most of the Boston offense with two hits, including a two-run home run off Oakland starter Scott Kazmir in the top of the sixth inning.
Jake Peavy took the loss for the Red Sox. He allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out four.
