Dropping him from the rooster clears this last problem that the Red Sox had after moving 11 of the original 28
He wanted to have more playing time, now he can hope to be picked up by someone willing to give it to him.
Lesson learned for @MikeCarp37. Request a trade and we'll trade every single one of your teammates except for you

Carp played only 42 game for the Red Sox in 2014 and slashed .198/.320/.279.
Clubs like the Royals and Reds have been said to have interest in a player like Carp and failed to make any moves at yesterday’s trade deadline.
He will need to pass through waivers in order to be moved.
Carp is playing on a $1.4MM annual salary in his first year of arbitration eligibility.
