Yoenis Cespedes' first home run in a Red Sox uniform drove in all three Boston runs as the Sox topped the Los Angeles Angels 3-1 Sunday afternoon at Angel Stadium.
Following Saturday night/Sunday morning's 19-inning affair in which the Sox had been held hitless through the first six innings, Boston had just three hits prior to Cespedes' blast, his 18th of the season.
Rubby De La Rosa went seven-plus innings for the Red Sox, holding the Angels to one run on five hits while striking out eight and walking only three. The Angels' lone run came on Mike Trout's 27th home run of the year with no one out in the bottom of the eighth.
Edward Mujica came on in relief with a scoreless eighth inning; Koji Uehara picked up his 25th save of the season.
