The Red Sox wasted one of Joe Kelly's better outings of the year, falling 2-1 to the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park on Tuesday night.

Texas jumped out to a 2-0 lead with single runs in the top of the second and third innings off Kelly.

Boston answered back in the bottom of the fifth inning on a long solo home run over everything in left by Xander Bogaerts (pictured), his second long ball of the year.

Kelly pitched well, scattering seven hits over seven innings of work. He walked one and struck out seven.

Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino each had two hits for Boston.
