Seattle left-hander James Paxton shut the Red Sox offense down for eight innings as Boston fell to the Mariners 5-0 in the finale of their 10-game road trip.
Red Sox knuckleballer Steven Wright (pictured) allowed three runs on five hits and a walk over five innings of work. He struck out four in the loss, his first of the year.
Brock Holt had a pair of hits for Boston including his fifth double.
The Sox finished the road trip 5-5 and come home to Boston for an off-day on Monday followed by the Rangers and Angels in an abbreviated six-game homestand.
