The good news first.
David Ortiz hit his 520th career home run, putting him just one away from Ted Williams (plus Willie McCovey and Frank Thomas) on the all-time list.
Clay Buchholz threw three scoreless innings in relief and said after the game that he thinks being in the bullpen may have helped him figure some things out.
Now the bad news.
Eduardo Rodriguez (pictured) continues to regress and is more than likely tipping his pitches again.
Adam Jones slammed a two-run shot off ERod in the top of the third inning and the Orioles were off and cruising to a 5-1 win over the Red Sox in the rubber game of their three-game set at Fenway Thursday night.
Rodriguez lasted just 4.1 innings, giving up all five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five. In his four starts this season his innings count has gone 6.0, 5.2, 4.2, 4.1 - clearly not a good trend.
