#PapiMoment - 2004 ALDS

While the last #PapiMoment talked about Big Papi's heroics in the 2004 ALCS, he started his clutch hitting in the ALDS. The Red Sox were up 2-0 on the Angles and were looking for the sweep in game 3. After scoring five runs in the 7th inning, the Angles tied the game at six. The game remained tied until the bottom of the 10th, when David Ortiz stepped in the box.

The Red Sox had one man on with two outs. Ortiz was at bat, looking for his fourth hit of the game. He wasted little time as he took Jarrod Washburn's first pitch over the Green Monster.

The homer sent Fenway into a wild celebration, and it wasn't the last time that fall. It sent the Red Sox to the ALCS where they would face their rival, the New York Yankees. I think we know how that one ended.
