Recap - ERod, Barnes Implode In Red Sox Loss

Kansas City scored eight times in the sixth inning as the Red Sox fell 10-4 to the Royals at Fenway Park on Sunday night.

Eduardo Rodriguez (pictured) and Matt Barnes each gave up five runs in the loss. Rodriquez went 5.1 innings before the wheels came off, charged with five runs on four hits and four walks.

Barnes face five batters in the top of the sixth without retiring anyone.

Mookie Betts and Chris Young each had two hits in the loss. David Ortiz slammed his 31st home run of the year in the fourth inning.

The home run was the 534th of his career, tying him with Jimmie Foxx at number eighteen on the all-time list.

Boston was without Dustin Pedroia who was attending a family funeral.
