Rick Porcello allowed just four hits over eight innings Wednesday night in Seattle.
Problem was, three of them were solo home runs, and the Boston offense basically took the night off in a 3-1 Red Sox loss to the Mariners at Safeco Field.
Porcello struck out eight and walked just one in suffering his third loss of the season and his first since mid-May.
Andrew Benintendi (pictured) made his first career start and led Boston with two hits. Jackie Bradley Jr. scored the lone Red Sox run in the top of the ninth on an RBI ground out by Travis Shaw.
