The Red Sox offense provided five runs in the top of the first inning and Chris Sale threw six shutout innings as Boston beat the Angels 6-2 in the opening game of a six-game road trip.

Sale (pictured) struck out nine and walked just two in recording his team-leading twelfth win of the season. He now has an even 200 K's on the season joining Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan and Pedro Martinez as the only pitchers to record that many strikeouts in 20 starts.

The Red Sox were relentless in the opening frame against Angels starter Ricky Nolasco. Andrew Benintendi and Mitch Moreland contributed RBI singles. A wild pitch scored another run and Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. each drove in another.

Mookie Betts completed the Boston scoring with an RBI single in the top of the fourth.

The Angels plated single runs in the seventh and ninth innings.

And yes...JBJ was at it again in the outfield.
