Betts (pictured) gave the Sox a 1-0 lead in the top of the third with his 18th home run of the season.

Boston added three more runs in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Xander Bogaerts, and run-scoring singles by Rafael Devers and Eduardo Nunez.

Martinez made it 5-0 in the seventh.

Sale pitched into the seventh inning in picking up his sixth win of the year. He was charged with one run on just two hits and four walks while striking out nine.

Andrew Benintendi, Nunez and Brock Holt each had a pair of hits in the Boston victory.
