Friday night it was the bullpen. Saturday it was the starting pitching. And the offense was negligible both games.

The flaws of the 2018 Boston Red Sox have been on full display in these first two games of the weekend series both of which resulted in losses.

Eduardo Rodriguez (pictured) was the victim Saturday, getting knocked around for five runs on six hits and three walks over 3.1 innings. His record fell to 12-4.

Boston took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Xander Bogaerts but by the time they were able to push another run across in the bottom of the fifth, the Astros had scored five times.

Bogaerts had three hits including a solo home run in the fifth; Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi each had two hits in the loss.

Rick Porcello and Dallas Keuchel will face each other in the series finale Sunday night at Fenway Park.
