Multiple sources are reporting that Red Sox RHP Nathan Eovaldi will undergo surgery Tuesday morning to remove a loose body from his right elbow.
Eovaldi was evaluated by Yankees team doctor Christopher Ahmad last week; it was Ahmad who performed Eovaldi's second Tommy John surgery back in 2016.
Last March while still with the Tampa Bay Rays, the pitcher had two loose bodies surgically removed from his elbow and missed 8 weeks of the season.
He was traded to the Red Sox in July and ultimately helped pitch the Red Sox to the 2018 World Series championship. Eovaldi expects to be out 4-6 weeks.
