Would anyone seriously be upset if some (all?) of the current members of the Red Sox bullpen were to somehow miss the flight home from London?

After a disgraceful performance on Saturday (11 runs allowed by six relievers in eight innings), three Boston relief pitchers combined to allow nine runs in just one inning as the Yankees rallied from a 4-0 deficit to win 12-8.

The Red Sox scored four times in the bottom of the first inning on home runs by Xander Bogaerts, J.D. Martinez and Christian Vazquez, and then were held off the scoreboard until they scored four again in the bottom of the eighth.

Martinez had three hits in the loss. Marco Hernandez, Vazquez, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Sam Travis each had a pair of hits.

Boston will limp home in third place 11 games behind the Yankees, and 12 in the loss column.

The Red Sox are off on Monday and open a two-city, six-game road trip in Toronto on Tuesday before the All-Star break.
