While the Red Sox continue to wait for Major League Baseball to issue its findings on possible sign-stealing violations during the 2018 season, the team announced Saturday that Jerry Narron has been named bench coach under interim manager Ron Roenicke.
Narron is a 32-year major league veteran (playing and coaching careers combined), the last three of which were spent as the bench coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
A sixth-round draft pick by the New York Yankees in 1974, Narron played with the Yankees, Mariners and Angels in an eight-year major league career. His coaching career included a year with the Red Sox in 2003 under manager Grady Little.
