The Red Sox are in first place, they've won five in a row (including a three-game sweep of the Yankees), and the good news keeps on coming.

Speaking on WEEI Wednesday afternoon, manager Alex Cora said that Chris Sale is expected to throw one more live BP session in Fort Myers next week, and then will likely head on a rehab assignment in Portland/Worcester where he will be closer to Boston.

Sale was very impressive in a 15-pitch live session Wednesday afternoon at Fenway in which he struck out three of the four batters he faced and topped out at 95 MPH.

After watching Sale throw, Cora was very pleased with what he saw. "He looks really good. His velocity was good. Good slider...good changeup. The most important thing was the command was there. We're very excited."

So are we, Alex. So are we.
