Before Nathan Eovaldi threw a pitch, he found himself with a 4-0 lead courtesy of an opposite field grand slam off the bat of J.D. Martinez.

And before he set foot on the mound in the second inning, he had a commanding 8-0 lead thanks to another grand slam, this time off the bat of Rafael Devers.

The super hot Kike Hernandez ripped a solo shot in the top of the fourth to complete Boston's scoring as the Red Sox beat up on the Houston Astros 9-5 to even the best-of-seven series at a game apiece.

Eovaldi went 5.1 innings for the win, charged with three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three.

Houston's final two runs came on a pair solo home runs in the ninth off reliever Darwinzon Hernandez.

The Red Sox and Astros move to Fenway Park for the middle three games of the series Monday through Wednesday of this coming week.

Manager Alex Cora declined to name his Game 3 starter tonight.
