Shohei Ohtani to sign with Los Angeles Dodgers for $700 million
Per the request of Shohei Ohtani's representatives Major League Baseball teams kept their pursuits of the superstar on the hush. There was the recent slip up where Dodgers manager and 2004 Boston Red Sox legend Dave Roberts mentioned meeting with Ohtani. The media wondered whether Shohei and his reps would hold this against the Dodgers. In the end they had $700 million reasons not to.

Considering that Ohtani preferred to play on the west coast, one wonders if there was another team in a less desirable location that might have even offered more money to Shohei. We'll wait to hear if the Red Sox even made an offer for Shohei, but ever since they traded Mookie Betts away, it seems the big market team decided to stop acting as one.SHOHEI OHTANI POSTED ON INSTAGRAM THAT HE IS A DODGER pic.twitter.com/afjeYD4iz0
